Frequently Asked Questions

What is Silk & Sidr?

Silk & Sidr is a house of Islamic art and craftsmanship. We collaborate with master artisans to create timeless pieces, from calligraphy and prayer rugs to beads, tiles, and more.

Where are your pieces made?

Each collection comes from a different region. Our debut calligraphy series was created in Istanbul. Upcoming works include rugs woven in Afghanistan, beads carved in the UK, and mushafs hand bound in Syria.

What does “Silk & Sidr” mean?

Both silk and the sidr tree are mentioned in the Qur’an as gifts of paradise in the Islamic tradition. They represent beauty in this world and the next, reflecting the harmony between faith and refinement that inspires our work.

Are the calligraphy pieces original?

Yes. Our originals are one-of-one works by master calligrapher Ahmet Namazi. Each is accompanied by a signed Certificate of Authenticity.

What are limited-edition prints?

Our prints are fine-art reproductions made using museum-grade materials and archival inks. Each edition is limited to 50 pieces per size.

How do you ensure authenticity and quality?

Every piece is produced in collaboration with the original artist and inspected before it leaves our studio. Our materials are sourced for longevity.

Where do you ship?

We currently ship within the United States. For international orders, please contact us directly at support@silkandsidr.com and we’ll do our best to accommodate your request.

How long will my order take to arrive?

Orders begin shipping on November 20. Unframed pieces ship within three to five business days of purchase.

How are prints packaged?

Unframed prints are rolled in acid-free materials and shipped in a protective box. Framed pieces are shipped fully protected and ready to hang.

Can I track my order?

Yes. You’ll receive a tracking number once your piece ships.

Do you accept returns?

Because each piece is made to order, all sales are final.

If your order arrives damaged or defective, please contact support@silkandsidr.com within 7 days of delivery with photos of the issue, and we’ll arrange a replacement or repair.

If for any reason you’re unsatisfied with your order, please reach out to support@silkandsidr.com and our team will do our best to make it right.

Please note that slight variations in color, texture, or framing are part of the handcrafted nature of our work and are not considered defects.

What if my piece arrives damaged?

Send clear photos of the issue to support@silkandsidr.com and we’ll arrange a replacement or repair.

Will you release more collections?

Yes. Silk & Sidr will continue to grow through new collaborations with artisans across the Muslim world: calligraphy, textiles, woodwork, metalwork, and more.
